The Nine Ways of Knowing has decided to profile some of the amazing women of the class of 2013… and we’re so sad to see them leave!! If you’d like to be featured on the blog or know someone who should definitely be profiled, fill out our tip form or email us at email@example.com.
Favorite memory from Barnard?
So so many. To some extent, my Barnard experience has been defined by the big events: Spirit Day 2011, that was the first day I felt incredibly lucky to be here at Barnard, even though I’d already been here for a pretty long time; Winterfest 2010, the first big event I planned for SGA; Senior Ball 2012, Bacchanal 2011…I can think of a bunch more, but I definitely don’t have enough space to list them all.
Biggest regret of college? Not taking more Classics classes. I didn’t realize how serious my interest in the Classical World was until it was too late and I needed to finish up the requirements for both of my majors. I would probably have taken Ancient Greek. If you’re interesting in taking a class, just take the plunge, because you might not have the same opportunity again.
Biggest leap of faith during college?
TURNING IN MY THESIS. Seriously though, when I showed up with almost 500 pages of thesis (not total, relax, I printed five copies) in my hands at Village Copier, I almost cried. Handing over my thesis after months of work and endless hours at Avery was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
What will you miss? The incredible ladiez of Barnard; shout outs to the Barnard Store, SGA, amazing faculty, and the fab women of Anthropology and Art History. The people at Barnard have made my time here so rewarding and so worth all of the struggles.
What won’t you miss? I’ve thought about the answer to this question for a while now, and maybe it’s pre-graduation nostalgia kicking in, but I can’t think of a single thing I won’t miss.
Favorite place on or off campus
On campus, probably the Diana or Avery. Off campus, the Frick, Cafe Lalo, the Met, or Strand Bookstore. I’m probably cheating by giving so many answers.
In 5 words or less, what’s next?
NY for future; California summer!
Midnight breakfast or Orgo Night?
Midnight Breakfast, for sure. But I can’t deny that I usually sneak into Orgo Night right after filling up on eggs & ice cream.
Who will play you in the biopic of your life?
Ayèlet Pearl or Meryl Streep.
