Favorite memory from Barnard?
I’m not a fan of “favorites” in general, but one of the good ones is definitely the time a group of friends and I were heading downtown on the 1 train, and somehow for a few stops, it was just us and a woman blasting music from an iPod dock. We had a great dance party for a few stops before she had to get off — definitely one of those New York moments.
For something a bit more related to Barnard, I would say that the Emerging Leaders Program provided a lot of good memories, as did FemSex and being a Perspectives on Diversity facilitator. I highly recommend all of these things to all of you underclassmen!
oh, and the time my friends and I threw a Beyoncé baby shower party. By far the best party of college 🙂
Biggest regret of college? none. If you have a bad gut feeling about something, then don’t do it. Otherwise, just go for it. You may have a great time or you may not, but I guarantee you’ll have a good story for later.
Biggest leap of faith during college?
I think the biggest leap of faith was actually coming here. I was terrified of coming to an all-female institution after going to coed public schools my entire life. But, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
What will you miss? almost everything — the campus, the classes, the instructors and professors, and my classmates. Barnard’s been pretty great for me.
What won’t you miss? long lines at the Diana during lunch.
Favorite place on or off campus
on campus: Lehman Lawn during the spring when the magnolia tree is blooming. off campus — sitting next to the lake in Central Park, or anywhere with a good water view.
In 5 words or less, what’s next?
research assistant, then MD/PhD!
Midnight breakfast or Orgo Night?
Midnight Breakfast. Barnard provides the food, friends provide the laughs. I have a lot of love for Orgo Night too, though.
If you were a Morningside Heights bar which would you be?
oh lord. I’m going to defer to my roommate on this one, who says I would be Vareli. I do love 1020 on a good trivia night though.
Who will play you in the biopic of your life?
again, going to defer to a friend. This one cast our whole group in a mock movie of our lives, and he cast me as Eva Mendes. Pretty high compliment if you ask me.
